Whirlpool washing machines have an internal diagnostics system that identifies problems within your machine and alerts you by showing an error code. When an error code is displayed you usually need to take a specific action to remove it before you can start using your machine again.

In this guide, we inform you of what each of the main codes means and what you need to do to remove them.

Whirlpool Duet washer error code LOC (or LC)

These codes mean that the “Control Lock” has been activated. To remove the error code you need to press the control lock button down for a few seconds and it should turn the control lock off. If your specific model doesn’t have a control lock button you need to consult your user manual to determine which specific buttons to press to remove the LOC or LC error code.

The dET error code only shows in a select few models. The code means you have no detergent cartridge in the dispenser. To remove the code, make sure you put a detergent cartridge in the dispenser and close the drawer firmly.

This error code means the wash cycle has paused or has been canceled. The code will be displayed while the machine completes the cycle and fully drains. This error code means too many suds are inside the washer drum. Usually, this code sorts itself out once the suds start to break down.
