The whirlpool customer service lady on the phone tried to prevent me from getting warranty service by telling me it would cost over $100 for someone to look at my new refrigerator that was only 5 months old. I tried to cancel the service request. However, This nice tech came in and knew what the problem was immediately. (I had to buy an old lemon refrigerator that was manufactured in 2016 due to the lack of available new models 5 months ago. It has a very poor design. covid19 seemed to be the blame for the lack of new inventory. Anyway, the poor design blocks the airflow if you put items on the top shelf near the back, causing everything to freeze in your refrigerator. There was nothing in the paperwork that explained the airflow locations. This tech was kind enough to show me the solution. He did a great job. I really appreciated the help

I called Maytag warranty department, and they dispatched Paradise to my house within 24 hours. Mr. Larry came out and diagnosed the problem. He clearly articulated what it was and how he intended to fix it. This involved him ordering parts and coming back. Before he left, he confirmed he placed the parts order and scheduled his return visit a week later. He was empathetic to our family not having access to an appliance for the week, but advised not to use it until he returned. And to his word, he was back at the appointed time, replaced parts and brought the unit back into service. Paradise called the night before and gave us a window for his arrival the next day. We so appreciated that because we were able to align our appointments to make sure someone was home when he got here. He very quietly and quickly performed the repairs in under an hour. He let me know he left the old parts for my review and disposal on top of our rubbish can. And he cleaned up everything before he left. Mr. Larry is true professional service repairman, and a veritable gentleman whom I would wholeheartedly recommend. I also will continue to request him and his company for my services. And lastly, it's been about a week or so since he completed the repairs, and the unit is functioning perfectly. Very, very satisfied customer. And it was covered under manufacturers warranty.

Because this was set up by the call center I now know that it’s important to talk to actual technician or company who’s coming to service the refrigerator to see that they have the proper tools to do the repair not just a diagnosis If you’ve already done the diagnosis. I explained on a phone Message to them that kitchenAid refrigerator was not getting electrical power and I have done all the testing recommended by Kitchenaid to turn the unit off and on And check circuit breakers et cetra. That they would need to pull out the refrigerator to check the plug area or test to see if the circuit breaker switch was dead. They did none of that They didn’t have the dolly to pull out the refrigerator although Whirlpool said they could and they didn’t have the tools to check the Circuit breaker. So they ended up telling me it was not getting enough electrical current which is what I told service center initially and that I would need an electrician. Which is what I asked if I should do Initially because it’s not getting power. So it may just be the problem of Covid and not being able to get to right people directly To answer your question or have the proper tools to resolve the problem. So that leaves you paying for something you already knew and not getting the refrigerator working. Maybe a good handyman is the answer rather than going through Multiple technicians to get a final result.
