It’s that time of year again. Restaurants and local coffee shops are preparing their pumpkin flavored dishes. People are starting to make Thanksgiving plans. And Halloween decorations can be seen all around town. It’s October. It’s time to watch your favorite horror films, pick pumpkins, and visit the haunted houses. But, if you’re looking for more to do this Halloween season than attend a friend’s party and go to the local haunt, you should check out this list of Five Halloween events happening in LA this spooky season. 

Halloween Monster Night

If you want to go to the hottest Halloween party of the year, you should check out Halloween Monster Night. Everything about this event was designed to make it a night you won’t soon forget. Held at the Lure Nightclub, an amazing venue that will transport you into a Hollywood fairytale, this party invites you to celebrate the Halloween season in style as you enjoy professional mixology, secluded alcoves, vintage sofas, and a variety of thrilling entertainment. Dance the night away to music by LA’s top DJs, test your luck in the costume contest (it has three categories), and enjoy exotic drinks with friends or that special someone. Keep in mind, this is LA’s hottest Halloween Night Out, not your typical costume part. Halloween Monster Night has been wowing crowds for over 19 years, so dress to impress. It’s sure to be a magical night with just the right amount of spooky vibes to get you in the Halloween spirit. This event will take place on Oct 26-27 and the luxurious Lure Nightclub.  

A Faery Hunt Show and Fairy Fantastic Halloween Party

If you’re looking for a family-friendly Halloween event, look no further. This interactive performance is sure to wow your kids as you create memories that will last a lifetime. The Faery Hunt Show is designed to inspire creativity in your young ones and invites them to join in the interactive fun. Together, you’ll watch as the faery folk goes on a quest filled with magic and music. Following the show, you and your family are invited to the Fairy Fun Halloween Party. If your kids are too young for spooky parties and haunted houses, this is a perfect alternative. They will enjoy thrilling storytelling, dancing, fun games, and face painting. It’s a day packed with magic, adventure, and fun for the entire family. Your kids are encouraged to come in costume, and there will be wings, wands, and wizard hats available for purchase if your kids want to join in the faery fun. This event is held at Griffith Park on Saturday, October 19 from 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM.  

A Hitchcock Halloween

If you spent your childhood Halloweens watching classic Horror Flicks, dressing as spooky as possible, and trying to scare all your friends, then this event could not be more perfect for you. Grab your group of witches and warlocks as you head to the Theatre at Ace Hotel. Spend the evening celebrating in gothic fashion as you honor the legend who gave us classics such as Psycho and Dial M for Murder. During this spectacular evening, you can delve into the dark arts as you sip magic potions (very strong drinks), listen to amazing music, and enjoy plenty of haunting entertainment that is sure to make your horror-loving heart soar. You are encouraged to wear Dweller-of-the-Night attire to fully immerse yourself in this Hitchcock Halloween. The event is held on October 26 at 10 PM at the Theatre at Ace Hotel.  

Knott’s Spooky Farm Festival

Spooky Farm Festival is a safe and family-friendly event that is happening each weekend through October, geared towards kids ages three to eleven. The fun starts at the gate, where your kids will get their own free treat bag and a map to explore all the fun waiting inside this amazing Halloween far. Your little ones can show off their artistic skills personalizing miniature pumpkins or decorating delicious cookies. If they’re a fan of Charlie Brown, they will not want to miss the show ‘The Monsters are Coming Charlie Brown that is performed right there in the park. And, if they enjoy that show, make it a double feature and catch one of Knott’s Spooky Farm magicians in action. Afterward, the kids can enjoy Spooky Story Time or participate in the costume contest and win some fun prizes. The adventurous among you certainly shouldn’t leave before checking out both of the fun rides (train and log) offered inside the farm. This family-friendly event is held in Buena Park, CA each weekend in October. 

Calabasas Pumpkin Festival

If you’re looking for an event that both adults and kids can enjoy equally, this is the event for you. This event is all about the pumpkins. Restaurants that offer pumpkin pie and coffee shops with pumpkin lattes have been outdone. This trade show offers all things pumpkin. All Things! So, if you’re a pumpkin fan, come enjoy pumpkin treats that are sure to delight your taste buds. Have a pumpkin beer with your friends. And, of course, don’t forget to show off your artistic side as you paint or carve pumpkins. But, for those who aren’t quite so pumpkin obsessed, don’t worry, there’s plenty for you too. You can enjoy the day listening to incredible music performed by live bands, browse marketplace vendors, and watch your kids enjoy multiple inflatables and a giant slide. There will also be Halloween carnival games that will appeal to kids and the ‘inner child’ in your adults. If you’re willing to brave it, go take a look at the reptile and bug show or test your luck in the multiple contests hosted during the event. And the Saturday morning costume parade is not to be missed.
